Will we get any updates? You will get frequent updates! Be prepared to see which trainer your dog is bonding with the closest, your dogs favourite playmate, what your dog is learning and where they have been exploring.
-
How old should my dog be before starting a Board &Train program? We recommend you wait until your dog is 5-6 months before enrolling in a Board & Train program.
-
What happens after my dogs program? When your dog finishes their program, we will spend about 60 minutes coaching you how to maintain your dogs training for years to come. You will also take home resources and have access to our online library in case you forget anything during your handover session.
-
Will we be able to visit our dog during their stay?We typically don’t recommend visits. This is because although it may be comforting for you, visits often add unnecessary stress to your dog. Stressed dogs don’t learn well so we do everything possible to minimize stress.
-
Will my dog be groomed during their stay? Before coming home, your dog will go for professional grooming and look fresh for their homecoming.
-
Can my dog come back for regular boarding after their program is complete?Absolutely! This is by far the best way to ensure that your dogs training is maintained while you are away. Although regular boarding isn’t an intensive program as our B&T programs
-
What if my dogs forgets everything at home?We have gone to incredible lengths during the program to ensure your dog retains their training perfectly upon returning home, however it doesn’t stop there! We deliver our final training modules after your dog returns home. This includes a home visit, where we reinforce the training even further into your home and walk you through the Family Dog Training module. We also bring you and your family back for a refresher session where we check and refresh your dog (and you) on the keys to long term maintenance
-
What happens if my dogs gets sick or injured?Rest, assured, your dog will be treated like one of our own during their stay. We keep spaces very limited so that we maintain a very close bond and understanding of your dog, and should an issue arise, we will fly into action, keeping you notified of course. Your trust means the world to us, and expect full transparency in return.
-
Will my dog be around other dogs?Your dog will be kept with other dogs around, to provide a sense of comfort while they are away from you. If they can interact appropriately, they will be allowed supervised play and walks with other compatible dogs.
-
What if the training doesn’t work? Do you offer a guarantee? We are so confident with our training, that if you are having any difficulties following your program, we will personally work with you 1-on-1, until your dog is back to A+ listening.
-
What if my dog only listens to you and not to me?By working with different trainers, in different environments, we are making sure that the dogs understand this training is expected everywhere. This is a common concern but rarely an issue.
-
Will my dog remember me?Your dog will absolutely remember who you are! Dogs don’t ‘miss’ us in the same way that we do, they are living in the moment and having fun learning their new skills, but they certainly will be elated to be reunited with their family upon pickup.
-
Where will my dog stay?Your dog will stay in our state-of-the-art, climate controlled kennel, which is situated next to our training academy and within earshot of our house. Your dogs health and safety is our primary concern, and our kennel has been designed with safety and sanitation in mind. Each dog has their own indoor and outdoor run.
-
What’s the day-to-day- routine? Our routine is to rouse the dogs from their sleep at around 8am for a morning bathroom break and breakfast. They will spend the rest of the day alternating between training sessions with a trainer, reflecting in their kennel, socializing with other dogs, or going on fun field trips into public. Dinner is served at 5pm and is followed by more training until around 8 or 9pm.
